PERANAN DINAS SOSIAL DALAM MENANGGULANGI PENYANDANG MASALAH KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL (PMKS) DI KOTA LUBUKLINGGAU

Abstract

The research aims to determine the role of  the department of the social services in tackling social welfare problems towards vagrant children at the city of Lubuklinggau south Sumatera province. A qualitative method by descriptive approach was used in this research. The data was collected by the implementation of observation, interview, and collected documentation. The data was analyzed along with reduction, display, and verification. The results of the research showed that the department of the social service already carried out its role in tackling social welfare. It can be seen from the indicators of primary duty, service and information granted, and conducted consultation.  The other results  that the role of social service department can be seen due to the empowerment in carrying out the control of vagrant children  through workshop. A part of the facilities is needed to complete  in regard with the limited of infrastructure, limited signed cooperation and budgeting allocation.
